Fab Finds ~ Baskets and Such

Hello, again! I know I'm a full day late, but nothing EVER goes as planned, and what really matters is, I'm here now, right?
*giggle*

This will be a real quick post, and is actually a "continuation" of my last.  Last time I shared some wooden pieces that I finished up and took down to the Shoppe, and now here are the really great baskets I picked up during my last "Fab Finds" hunt that are now in my booth.

This black basket was given to me by BFF.  It was a pale blue-ish/green color, and was really great "as is," but I thought it would look nice in a flat black.

This next basket was EXTREMELY HARD to part with, but I sucked it up, and "handed it over" to my booth.  lol

Isn't it GREAT!?  It reminds me of a basket I'd take out into a field of flowers to fill up and carry home!  I guess the photos do this one no justice.  I just love it!

These next two are also super!  I especially LOVE round two-handled basket on the right here.

This last one is much smaller than the others, but would make an adorable shelf sitter, or a nice table piece filled with little prim pantry cakes or "fixin's."  As soon as I saw it, I snagged it up!  It's another really cute one!

That's it for the baskets --by the way, EVERY TIME I say, "Basket(s)" now, I think of Sharon Peacham, a character from GCB.  For anyone out there who knows what I'm talking about -- isn't she the CUTEST!?)  LOL--

Anyway, there are only a couple of things left to show you for tonight.

I found THESE distressed wall sconces!  Aren't these FAN-TAB-U-LOUS!?  (Yes, another find I gave up ...reluctantly.  Very reluctantly).

I placed a couple of my lil' grubbies on one, afterall! someone will need them for the sconces once they get them home, right!?  *wink*

And finally, there's the sage-y- green taper holders I recently showed you.  At the time, I'd placed frosted glass globes over them, and they were so cool looking as candle "lanterns."  Well, I think I told ya about my lovely daughter breaking one of them as we were loading up the truck to take them (and some other goodies) down to the Shoppe.  Oopsies!

Oh well, I decided to give up the idea after not finding any other globes that would fit, and just placed these cream colored tapers into them.  I have to say, they are still GREAT just as they are, and again, they were something I would've loved to have kept, but ...I was a good girl and let them go.  *hehe*

Well, that's all, folks!  And it was a not-so-quick post, afterall, was it?  LOL

Sweet Dreams, and Goodnight!

Sharing A Few Finished Pieces

Good Monday evening, all!

I'm here to "drop off" a few photos for ya!

I've been working on some [wood] pieces here at home that I was able to get finished up this weekend, and do have more that are "in the making," and even more pieces to come!

As I've not been "in the mood" for sewing in quite a while (I think it's a time-issue thing, really), I got to looking through all my STUFF, and was reminded of just how much I actually have to work with!  There are quite a few wood findings (among other things) that have been stashed in boxes, here and there, for a very long time, and I decided it was probably about time I start making something of it all, get it down to the Shoppe, and make more room... for MORE STUFF, of course!  =D   Oh, I jest, a little bit, anyway.  *wink*  LOL

Tonight, I am sharing a couple of VERY LARGE wooden bowls/plates that my BFF passed on to me.  They were plain natural wood on the front sides, with a beige/tan coat of paint on the backs.  I envisioned them Americana pieces, very similar to some nesting boxes I did a while back.  They came out exactly as I'd planned!

*please excuse the fingerprints on the smaller navy blue/star plate in the photos.  They weren't quite dry yet, but the fingerprints do wipe right off... I just hadn't done it before I took the pics - OOPS!*

And, of course, I took no "before" shots - DOUBLE OOPS!  >.<
These pieces were "aged" with a walnut minwax, however it's not as obvious in the photos as is in person.  In other words, the star and other white areas are actually more tan.

This next piece is one of those "Fab Finds" I had sitting on a shelf in the garage for I don't know how long!  lol  It was originally a neat little wooden box with hinged lid that had been painted solid RED!  I sanded it down, painted black over red, sanded, distressed, aged, and then added this old Clorox ad label I'd found online (which I also aged pretty heavily).

I simply LOVE how this turned out, and it was a bit difficult to part with...

Next is a plain ole' wooden candle holder, but I love it!  It's painted a nutmeg color, sanded, and "aged" with walnut minwax.

Of course, I put it among some grubby tapers and votives.  :)

And the last piece I'll share tonight is this "recycled" game board (another "Fab Find" from long, long ago) that I transformed a bit and again, "aged" for a more prim feel!

Tomorrow, I will return with a some other "findings" that I took down today.

Have a wonderful evening!

New Fab Finds & a Lil' 'Splainin'

Good morning, Prim Friends!
 (The "Splainin'" Part)

I know it's been a very long time since I've posted here on the blog, but if you follow my facebook page, you'll know I've been "away," sick. Yes, "The CRUD" hit our home, and took it's toll on every last one of us, and it did not choose to show even a tidbit of mercy for anyone. Took quite a toll on us all, and "Life" pretty much came to a stand-still as I took care of two sick girls until they were well, then it was the boys' turn.  Two days within the boys coming down with it, it was my turn.  Thank goodness my oldest girl was well by then, or Lord only know how far things would've "went by the wayside," as it was shortly after I began to get sick, hubby also stared coming down with it!  Oh, boy! it was a complete nightmare!  The funny part of it all is that it's so RARE that anyone here ever gets sick, and if so, it may last a day or two (or sometimes three), and then all is well, for the most part, and that's IF anyone catches something going around. This time around, however, was the longest and worst of any illness we ever dealt with; a cold/flu like virus. Good news is, we made it through, and now I am in the process of "getting back to normal" once more -- knock on wood!

~Fab Finds~
(The FUN Stuff)

So, here I am, back to share some "Fab Finds" that I was able to pick up last Sunday during my bargain shopping hunt.  Since I've had no opportunity to craft at home in what seems like FOREVER, I thought maybe I could shop around for anything and everything that caught my eye.  You know, just some "knick-knacks & whatnots" that I could put in my booth to help fill in some empty spaces, and that would perhaps make some nice Mother's Day gifts.  *wink*

It is time for me to get on the craft train again, though, really.  I have tons of wood pieces I could work on getting painted and distressed, and then I have some vague ideas for some other projects, of course.  I will work on what I'm able, AS I'm able and will surely be back to share more as things get done.  For now, here are some photos of the things I picked up last week.  :D

First, remember these really cool metal candle holders I picked up way back when?  Well, I finally decided to do something with them.
...and this is what I came up with:
...I love them.  Picked these lantern "globes" up for some wood wall sconces I painted to discover that they didn't fit... barely.  So, I placed them on the candle holders, LOVED the look and was going to put them in the Shoppe with some grubby tapers inside, but then... taking everything out to the truck yesterday, my daughter accidentally dropped one of the glass covers, and that was the end of that plan... for now!  ;)  That's okay.  I'll get a new matching pair, THEN I'll take them to my booth (or at least TRY to get them there... in one piece).

Okay, so now that I've got that story out of the way, here are the rest of the photos from my "Fab Finds" shopping trip.  :)

*Click photos for enlarged view, remember*
Overall photo...

The lidded Turkey dish was too fab to pass up, though it has a very small hairline crack on one side, it's barely noticeable, and would be great just as a display piece.

I LOVED these when I saw them.  I know they are vintage and made in Taiwan and that's about it.  Wonderful little miniatures!

These two jars/vases with basket stands are originally from Pottery Barn.  I simply added the fabric strip bows to dress them up a bit.

Just a couple of "Old Timey" glass milk jars that I, again, added some fabric bows to, then filled with some dried flowers that I also found on my bargain hunting trip.  :)

Vintages Lead Crystal Scalloped Heart Trinket Box from Italy.

I LOVE Holly Hobby, and found a few lovely vintage plates...

Sugar bowl - Japan

Johann Haviland vintage bell - Bavaria, Germany

Vintage dresser/trinket box.  I wish you could see the details better...

Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers - Like the trinket box (above) the the glazing is all "crackly" and it makes them look so old and neat!  Again, you just can't really tell from the photo.  Bummer...

Vintage mini-cup and saucer.  So pretty , in person.  -Japan

Okay, that's about all I have time for at the moment.

Have a SUPER Sunday!
