A Couple o' More Fall Gathering Goodies

Hey, there!  I wanted to pop in again here real quick before supper to show you what I finished up today.

I think I'm finished with these sort of projects for now.  I just needed to get these wooden items I had started out of the way.

Here is an old bread board that I, once again, based in black, sanded, distressed, and this time, finished with a "wipe on, wipe off" coat of walnut stain.  Then, there are a couple of wooden plates/candle trays that I did all the same to, but also did a coat of paint on in between.  I did one mustard over black and the other a burnt pumpkin orange over black.

And on with the end results~

This last one's just an overview of all the "like" projects I completed over the past couple of days.

I have no idea what I'm going to try next, but it'll be somethin'!
Now it's time to get my HUGE mess cleaned up and plan my next project(S).  :)

Have a wonderful evening, friends!

More Fall Goodies n STUFF

Okay, I'm back!  I have to make this post fairly quick, as hubby decided to get a moo-vie from RedBox tonight, and he's adamant about what time to start watching!  LOL

So, here goes, real quick.  These are a couple of projects that I've finished up after I dipped all them candles the other day.  Both the wooden "scoop/shovel" thingy and the wall sconces were GW finds.  And OF COURSE, I forgot to get "before" pictures of either.  They were both pretty much a light-med stained color, like most wood pieces you find second-hand.  I gave them both a base of black, sanded, and "distressed" them.  I didn't finish them off with the walnut stain, because they just looked perfect to me just the way they turned out.  :)

I filled the scoop/shovel (I've got to learn the name of that darn thing) with a bit of yellowy-green-brown moss, and POPCORN, then added 3 of my dirty/grubby votives!  I thought the yellow popcorn would look very "Fall-y" and really like how it turned out.  Then I finished it off with a grubbied-up strip of brown floral fabric, replacing the original leather strip that hung from the handle.

The sconces I painted and distressed in the same manner.  Then I painted up a couple of thin prim wood stars I had on hand with a yellow mustard color.  I rubbed a little almost dry walnut stained cloth over the stars to make them look a bit "smoke smudged" and finally glued them onto the sconces with wood glue.  These were originally taper candle-holders, but I removed the small candle holder from each sconce so that some grubby votives could sit in their place.

(Note* one sconce is shown with grubby votive and one without.  I had to balance the sconces just so in order to get the pics to work out right where the items sat.  The sconce on the right would've fallen over if I tried to put the weight of the votive on top).  :P

So, here are those items:
(please excuse the MANY pics...  you know me!  --->SO indecisive!)
hehe

And lastly, here is my lil' "For Keeps" goodie!  My "Cinnamon-Spiced Citrus" sitting in an olde' wooden dough bowl atop my very "chippy" coffee table in the living room.  ;)

That's all again, until next time!  Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by!  See ya again soon!!!

Nothin' Ever Happens Quite the Way We Plan...

Go figure!

So, I know I stopped in here a couple of days ago (or was it more like 3 days ago?) and told everyone to "Keep a Look-Out" for some new Fall stuff, right?  Yeah, I know I did.

BUT-
After I downloaded a few pics, then tried to upload them, I discovered they were not filed in my Picasa program, as they usually are, automatically.  So...  Of course, I couldn't have that happening, and decided to wait until I got it all figured out and fixed.  I absolutely refused to resort to another route, when the process has always worked a certain way, up 'til now.  (I'm stubborn like that).

AND THEN-

The next day (yesterday), I HAD to sit down and take care of 2 weeks, plus, of coupon clipping.  (YES, I am also a couponer, among countless other "self-proclaimed titles" and that's part of my problem-always trying to do a GAZILLION things at once-UGH).  So, anyway, what I thought would take only a couple of hours, max, to clip and file away in my binder, took more like 5-5  1/2 hours!  And that was with my eldest daughter's help!  0_0  Bless her heart... if it weren't for her, I'd probably still be sorting, stapling, clipping, and filing.  BLAH!

Needless to say, I've got no other crafting done since Monday, and even then I didn't complete ALL that I had set out to accomplish!  Since I did accomplish some things, though, I'm not gonna wine too much more.  ;)

Finally-
Today, was just plum BUSY, with ALL CAPS!  lol  However, I do have some pics to show you.  Yes, I figured out the Picasa mess, and am a Happy Camper now.  :D  For this post, I'll just share the other German Glass Jar I finished, and then in the post to follow, I will share a couple of other goodies.  Tomorrow, I PLAN to get some more crafting done, and will HOPEFULLY be back again then (or the next day) to share some more.  :)

So, here's the 2nd glass jar/lid I finished up on Monday.   It is also filled with my homemade dried lemons & oranges and cinnamon sticks.  (I call the mix, "Cinnamon-Spiced Citrus." ...kinda "catchy"-I like it!)

See ya soon!

Dippin' ~n~ Dapplin'

I've got some more Fall crafts just about finished up, but before I can share, I have to dip and grubby up LOTS o' Candles!  It's going so much quicker than the first time I did this!  How FUN!

Keep a look-out!  :)

Autumn... the Season to "Fall" For

Good Morning, Prim Friends!  Today, I have some Fall goodies to share with you that I'm really excited about.  This year is my first experience with prim fall crafting, and I'm having tons of fun!  I only have a handful of items to show you at the moment, but have so many more ideas in the works, so... stay tuned!  :D

This week, I've been trying my hand at dried oranges and lemons, and I've just been making small batches each day, so that I can build up my supply in order to have plenty on hand throughout the upcoming Holiday Seasons.  I'm definitely going to pick up a bag of apples just for drying, as well!  These oranges and lemons smell SO WONDERFUL!  After I have a batch dried out, I simply place them in a ziplock bag, add cinnamon sticks, and sprinkle with a dab more cinnamon powder.  (I also add cinnamon to the oranges while they are drying in the oven).  Then, I shake the bag up really well, and pour out into my container.  Here is one jar I've completed, another is in the works.  I picked up two of these really neat German jars at Goodwill last week, for HALF OFF $4, which is usually more than I'm willing to spend, but the jars were too FAB to pass up.  The lids of these jars are inscribed with the words, "Rillenglas Ankerglas" with a cute little anchor pictured in the center.  I tried Googling the jars to find out more about them, but had little luck-can't even find any on eBay-h'mmmm...

The next things I have to show you are a few diddy bags that I made up a little while back.  They've been sitting around just waiting for me to add their finishing touches, and I FINALLY came up with a couple of ideas I'm really pleased with.  The first two I made into Candle Keeps.  I hand-stitched "Bless this Home" on one, and "Welcome Friends on another, and of course, they got a grubby bath.  Then I added some dry sticks, cinnamon-scented branches and red pip berries.  They can be hung on pegs or set up on a gathering shelf, or just wherever.  :)

And finally, here are the last three ditty bags I have done up.  These are large and I decided to turn them into Flour, Sugar, and Tea Sacks.  I used an old ivory/white calico printed material for the sacks, and added a natural prim twine rope (can't think of the name of this at the moment) for their tie-offs, grubbied 'em up, and stuffed them.  Then I simply attached a burlap "label" to each, and finished them off with long, "messy" natural raffia bows.  I LOVE these, and trust me, the pictures do them no justice.  They are just IT, in person.  I'm going to have a hard time parting with them, but have promised myself a set in the near future.  hehe  :D

You can really see the white calico on ivory print of the sacks in this picture.  The "Tea" bag on your left shows it well.

Well, that about rounds it up-for now!  I've got some "new" olde wooden bowls waiting to be painted up purdy and distressed, along with some other projects.  I'm going to do the bowls in Fall colors this time.  My last set of Spring-colored and Americana bowls all sold out!  Yay!

I shall return soon with more goodies to share!  Thanks to all who've "stood by" me, during my absence.  I've got the creative-bug fever again, and am on a roll!

Happy Thursday, Y'all!  :D

I personally have a handful of Christmas projects "in the works" currently, and hope have them ready to go by Thursday, for this event. I have not been well (on and off) since the end of June, hence my "scarcity" here on the blog as well as on our fb page. :(
I have to say that I've really been enjoying crafting again over the past few days, and I've already got the "Christmas Bug" like crazy! ;)
